The question on nobody’s lips is So who the hell am I and why should you care?
To paraphrase Chuck Palahniuk; I am not my job, how much money I have, or the contents of my wallet. I like to think of myself as one camera angle in the collective consciousness. Though we’re not hard-wired to one another, I think we’re each weaving a thread in a single tapestry.
I have thoughts, memories and feelings that exist inside my head, but if I use just the right words I can transmit them, almost telepathically, into your mind so we can share them.
I guess that’s why I’m writing this blog. I can’t promise any predictable or consistent theme, just my current experience, whether it be what happened to me today, an opinion on current events or a total work of fiction. I do promise to tell you which is which.
I like to call myself a writer -which I guess is true as long as I’m writing things- and my job is to create an experience for the reader that feels three-dimensional. I want to pull you out of your world and into mine for the time it takes you to read an entry. I want to force you to carry around a part of my world.
Experience is subjective. My past, present and future only exist in my mind, so they’re as real for you as they ever will be for me. I’m just a little more immersed.
We’ll be right back after these messages from your real life.
